Observation
Category : Air sampling observation
Situation : ongoing
Time zone : Local time 1

Sampling
Sampling height :
Description : continuous
Sampling and analysis frequency : continuously one value every 30 second
Sampling environment :
Description for sampling analysis :

Instrument and Analysis
Measurement method : VUV Flourescence
Current status and history of instrument : Type: VUV Flourescence
Manufacturer: Aero Laser
Reference number: AL5001
Description of instrument :

Calibration
Current scale employed in the measurement : NOAA/CMDL
Measurement calibration : Calibration gas: Working standard traceable to certified NOAA/CMDL primary standard tanks. Zero/Span check all 6 hours. The zero air for the calibration is made by a Sofnocat CO scrubber.
Scale and calibration(treasability) : All data are based on WMO mole fraction scale (NOAA/CMDL).

Data Processing
Measurement unit : ppb
Data processing :
Processing for averaging : Processing for Hourly Data:
The data acquisition system probides one value every five minutes raw data. Zero/calibration factors and data protocols are used to convert raw data into calibrated data. Invalid data caused by local impact, malfunction or other effects are detected by comparison and correlation with other trace substances and meteorological data and also with information from the station logbook and then are rejected. 30min mean values are generated by calculating the arithmetic mean of the remaining data with more than 2/3 of all data. For reporting to WDCGG hourly mean values are caluculated from these half hourly data.
Processing for Daily Data:
Take the arithmetic mean of selected half hourly data with the number of data more than 31.
Processing for Monthly Data:
Take the arithmetic mean of selected half hourly data with the number of data more than 960.
Data flag : Hourly
1: valid value
6: missing value due to calibration
9: missing
Data remarks :

Other Information
Scientific aim : To provide reliable data for research to reveal long term trends of air pollution, long distance transport and climate change in Central Europe.
