Observation
Category : Air sampling observation
Situation : ongoing
Time zone : Local time +1

Sampling
Sampling height :
Description : continuous
Sampling and analysis frequency : Continuous
Sampling environment : measurements in pristine air, usually negligible local sources
Description for sampling analysis : NOx is determinded as NO after photolytic conversion. NO2 is the difference of NOx and NO. 10-minute averages.

Instrument and Analysis
Measurement method : Chemiluminescence
Current status and history of instrument : Chemiluminescence, CRANOX
Description of instrument : Eco Physics:
CLD 770/PLC 760 (till 18 December 2000)
CLD 770/PLC 762 (till 22 January 2007)
CLD 89p/PLC 762 (since 22 January 2007)

Calibration
Current scale employed in the measurement : NMI PRM BD11 (20ppm ± 0.2ppm)
Measurement calibration : Every 23 hours an automatic zero-check and an automatic span correction is performed for NOx.
Scale and calibration(treasability) : From 1991 UNTIL 09/2001: NIST SRM 2629a (20ppm ± 0.2ppm);
Since 09/2001: NMI PRM BD11 (20ppm ± 0.2ppm); NMI is equivalent to NIST (refer to the “Declaration of Equivalence“ between NMI und NIST)

Data Processing
Measurement unit : ppbv
Data processing : Data availability required for calculation: >= 75% of 10-minute values
Processing for averaging : Processing for Hourly Data:
Estimated standard uncertainty for hourly averages:
until 31 December 2007: 0.002 ppbv for values below 0.04 ppbv; 5 % for values greater than 0.04 ppbv
