Observation
Category : Air sampling observation
Situation : ongoing
Time zone : Local time +1

Sampling
Sampling height : 5
Description : continuous
Sampling and analysis frequency : Continuous (Data is sampled every 10 second, and a 10-minute average is stored.)
Sampling environment : Rural
Description for sampling analysis : Material of intake: glass
Intake height: 5 meter above ground
Tubing: about 10 m lenght with 4 mm diameter made by Teflon
Air is sampled 1.6 liter per minute using dust filter

Instrument and Analysis
Measurement method : Light absorption analysis (UV)
Current status and history of instrument : 1 Jan, 1990 - 30 Nov, 2006: TE Model 49C, UV Absorption (TEI Corp.)
1 Dec, 2006 - present: TE Model 49I, UV Absorption (TEI Corp.)
Description of instrument : Thermo Environmental Instruments Inc., USA

Calibration
Current scale employed in the measurement : absolute
Measurement calibration : Zero and five points span check (40, 80, 120,160, 200 ppb) two-four times per year using a transfer standard TEI Model 49PS. The transfer standard is calibrated against the standards described below:
1990 June - 2003 June: TEI Model 49PS at the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute certified by the National Institute of Standards (NIST), USA
in 2002, and from 2004 June - present: TEI Model 49PS at the Hungarian Environmental Inspectorate
certified by NIST
Scale and calibration(treasability) : Original absolute scale

Data Processing
Measurement unit : ug/m3-25C
Data processing : Before 1996, the measured ozone data were collected and recorded weekly, after 1996 the data is being sent to the headquarter automatically to the central database computer. Measurement data are checked and flagged monthly at the headquarter. Final data checking and validation is performed by the contributor at the headquarter. Hourly average is calculated from valid 10-minutely averaged data. Daily and monthly averages are calculated from validated hourly data. There are no data invalid conditions.
Processing for averaging :

Data flag : 6: Below detection limit
8: No data available
