Observation
Category : Air sampling observation
Situation : ongoing
Time zone : UTC

Sampling
Sampling height : 10
Description : continuous
Sampling and analysis frequency : Continuous measurements.
Sampling environment : It is a monitorig station collocated at a very high mountain site (3480 m asl). For this reason it is often out of the planetary boundary layer.
Description for sampling analysis :

Instrument and Analysis
Measurement method : Light absorption analysis (UV)
Current status and history of instrument : Environnement 41M up to June 2011. Starting from July 2011 by means of THERMO 49i with internal calibrator.
Range of measurement: 0 – 500 ppbv.
Description of instrument : The instrument is a THERMO 49i with internal calibration.

Calibration
Current scale employed in the measurement : 0-500 ppbv
Measurement calibration : The instrument is calibrated (up to June 2011) by means of an external ozone source (primary calibrator) when the personal is operative in situ (at least every twice months). Since July 2011 we use a THERMO 49i with internal calibration.
Scale and calibration(treasability) : RSE have an internal metrological lab in Milan headquarters.
The primary calibrator is a Thermo Electron 49PS, calibrated by Primary Italian Metrological Institute INRIM.
The analysers are periodically verified in respect of the calibrator in the scale 0-100ppbv.
The procedure is agree on the ISO 9169:2006 standard.

Data Processing
Measurement unit : ppb
Data processing :
Processing for averaging : Processing for Hourly Data:
Hourly data are obtained by means of the average of at least 180 measurements.
Processing for Daily Data:
Daily data are obtained averaging hourly mean O3 values.
Processing for Monthly Data:
Monthly data are obtained averaging daily mean O3 values.
Data flag : "1" means "valid data". The data is considered correct but no criteria, at the moment, has been applied to identify the background data;

"2" means "invalid data" (for example, instrumental problems due to the missed electrical power, incorrect calibration measurements, sampling flow incorrect and so on).
Data remarks :

Other Information
Scientific aim : To provide data for research and study of the long term trends.
