Description |
: |
continuous |
Sampling and analysis frequency |
: |
Continuous, measuring interval is 10 seconds (7 seconds flushing and 3 seconds integrating time). |
Sampling environment |
: |
The Pilar Observatory is located at the centre of the Country (31.4°S, 63.53°W) at an altitude of 338 meters a.s.l. The distance from the Capital of Cordoba is approximately 60 Km.
The prevailing winds blow from the North-Northwestern sector (N-NW). The station is surrounded by a pasture land or field, but there is a cold-storage plant 2,5 kilometers to the North.
The average annual rainfall and relative humidity are 786 mm and 69%, respectively. |
Description for sampling analysis |
: |
Sampling and Analyses Intake height: 3 m above ground on top of the station building, 1 m above the roof.
Inlet/Manifold: from there connections ozone instruments by t inch PFA tubing, length approx. 6 m to instrument.
Total flow rate 1.6 liter per minute
Teflon inlet filter before analyzer, exchanged monthly.
Residence time in the sampling line: approx. 2 s

Calibration |
Current scale employed in the measurement |
: |
Travelling standard, traceable to NIST |
Measurement calibration |
: |
Intercomparison at the Regional Calibration Centre (RIII WMO) for Surface Ozone (RCC-BsAs) by WCC-Empa in 2006 and 2010. |
Scale and calibration(treasability) |
: |
The data refer to the WCC O3 standard.
Absolute scale, ppb.
|
Data Processing |
Measurement unit |
: |
ppb |
Data processing |
: |
You should considerate that the wind blows from the North, the data since they are have been probably polluted by the cold-storage plant, since mid-2004. |
Processing for averaging |
: |
Processing for Hourly Data: The hourly mean value is calculated as the arithmetic mean value of the samples taken every 15 minutes. Processing for Daily Data: The daily value is calculated as the arithmetic mean value of the 24 hourly values taken during the day. Processing for Monthly Data: The monthly values are calculated as the arithmetic mean value of the days for that month. |
